The Mercedes-Benz 300 SL is a two-seat sports car that was produced by Mercedes-Benz from 1954 to 1957 as a gullwinged coupé and from 1957 to 1963 as a roadster. William J. Riley founded the New Balance Arch Support Company in the Boston area, manufacturing arch supports and other accessories designed to improve shoe fit. His first product, a flexible arch support, was designed with three support points to provide greater balance and comfort in the shoe. It is believed that Riley came up with the name "New Balance" by observing chickens in his yard and demonstrated the way his arch supports worked by keeping a chicken foot on his office desk.

Design
Part of the Polar family, Polar Mono is a mono spaced geometric sans. The approach to creating Polar was to generate a well-balanced geometric with some unique moments, such as the alternate lowercase ‘a’ with the kicked out stem. The typeface was drawn with optically balanced strokes, with little contrast on the horizontal and verticals. The Semi Mono offers the look and feel of a mono spaced typeface, but has fluctuating widths and kerning pairs to create more balanced type settings. The level of refinement and detailing means the typeface can be used in super-sized settings, as well as microscopic instances.
